The Connor Brothers (Born in 1968) are a British artistic duo known for their provocative and visually striking works. Former art dealers, Mike Snelle (b 1974) and James Golding (b 1976) create art under the moniker The Connor Brothers, initially combining retro pin-up portraits of women with bold blocks of color and deadpan snippets of text. In the age of Banksy, Street Art and Pop Culture, The Connor Brothers adopted a fictional backstory, claiming to be twin brothers who had escaped from a California cult, adding an element of intrigue to their art. However, they have since abandoned this persona, focusing solely on their art.
Their works have been exhibited internationally through various fine art galleries including London, Berlin, New York, Los Angeles, and Sydney. Their works explore themes of artifice, sensationalism, and storytelling, often drawing on pop culture and vintage imagery to create a sense of irony and critique.
