GALLERY M in Cherry Creek North, as an authorized LIFE gallery of photography, will host a collection of photographic works by LIFE Magazine photographer, Andreas Feininger to help celebrate the gallery’s tenth- year celebration.
Feininger (1906 – 1999), who became a member of the LIFE magazine staff in 1943, dreamed of being a scientist, trained to be an architect, yet elected to set his sights on photography and made it his passion. Although he traveled worldwide, it was New York City that really was the lure for his lens. He once said, “he grew to love all aspects of New York, its buildings, its people, its cars and traffic jams, its confusion and its ugliness. The city is a living organism: dynamic, sometimes violent and even brutal.”
